Operations were carried out on February 4, 5 following reports of militant presence

Twenty-four terrorists were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operations were carried out on February 4 and 5 following reports of terrorist presence in Orakzai and Khyber districts.

In the first operation in Orakzai district, ISPR said security forces effectively engaged a terrorist hideout. “During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, fourteen khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.

A second intelligence-based operation was conducted in Khyber District, where security forces again engaged militants after an exchange of fire. ISPR confirmed that “ten more khwarij were effectively neutralised” during the encounter.

The military said sanitisation operations are ongoing in both areas to ensure that no remaining terrorists are present. “Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored khwarij found in the area,” the statement added.

Reaffirming its resolve, ISPR said the security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their efforts under the national counterterrorism framework. The press release said the campaign is part of the counterterrorism drive under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.

On 4-5 February 2026, twenty four khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

Earlier, security forces killed 13 terrorists belonging to the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram and Bannu districts on January 15.

ILast month, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said at a press conference that an extraordinary number of intelligence-based operations were conducted across the country, reflecting both the scale of the threat and the state’s resolve to confront it. “In 2025, complete harmony was achieved between the state of Pakistan and its people on the issue of terrorism,” he said.
