PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Friday formally inaugurated a new housing project comprising 96 state-of-the-art residential flats dedicated to government employees in the Civil Quarters area of Peshawar.

The Phase-II development under the project includes modern living units, each spanning 1,000 square feet, constructed across a 6.91-kanal site. The four-storey building, complete with a basement, features 24 flats per floor, offering a total of 96 high-quality residences. The entire initiative was completed at a cost of Rs886.506 million, providing essential amenities such as electricity, water, gas, round-the-clock security, dedicated parking, and other basic facilities designed to meet contemporary living standards.

During a briefing at the inauguration ceremony, officials detailed the project’s scope and infrastructure. Chief Minister Afridi, addressing the gathering, emphasized that the provincial government remains committed to realizing the vision of former Prime Minister Imran Khan by ensuring dignified and quality housing for public servants. He highlighted that such measures enhance employee performance, job satisfaction, and institutional stability.

“The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government views its employees as valuable assets, and their welfare is our top priority,” Afridi stated. He added that respectable and secure accommodation forms the foundation for mental peace and improved efficiency among the workforce. “These modern flats have been built precisely with this philosophy in mind, creating a peaceful and conducive environment for government employees.”

The Chief Minister further announced plans to expand similar residential schemes in the future and continue reforms in the housing sector. “We will keep advancing initiatives to deliver better residential facilities not only to public servants but also to citizens at large,” he assured, underscoring the government’s ongoing focus on sustainable development and employee well-being.

The project aligns with broader efforts to uplift living standards for civil servants in the province, reflecting a sustained push toward modern infrastructure and public service incentives. Officials noted that the new flats represent a significant step in addressing long-standing housing needs in Peshawar’s administrative hub.
