‘Assault, violence, and harassment are absolutely intolerable’ says Superintendent of Police Sadr Inam Sher

RAWALPINDI:

Police on Thursday arrested a man identified as Ibrahim Yaseen, who was accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy in a madrassa in Rawalpindi.

“My son went to offer prayers; on his way back, the suspect who was lying in wait assaulted my son and recorded an indecent video,” said the boy’s father.

In the First Information Report filed on Wednesday, the 12-year-old boy was at a madrassa in his village at the village mosque, a double-story building.

After completing his duty of calling the prayer (azaan), the boy was sitting in the designated area when the accused Ibrahim Yaseen allegedly seized him. The suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the boy and recorded a video of the act, the complainant stated.

Later, the suspect and three unidentified accomplices allegedly blackmailed the boy by showing him the video, threatening to make it public if anyone was informed.

The boy, frightened, did not reveal anything initially, according to the complaint. The video was eventually circulated anyway, revealing that the boy had been allegedly abused.

After the video went viral, the boy disclosed the full details. The complainant stated that their honour and the boy’s honour were harmed by the alleged abuse and circulation of the indecent video. They demanded that a case be registered and that those responsible for the alleged abuse and video circulation be arrested.

Gujar Khan Police registered the case and arrested the suspect immediately. The affected boy has undergone a medical examination. The accused will be presented before the court with solid evidence via challan.

“Assault, violence, and harassment are absolutely intolerable,” Superintendent of Police Sadr Inam Sher said.
