Says 684 terrorists killed and more than 912 injured during Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq

Information Minister Ataullah Tarar said on Sunday that the armed forces conducted overnight strikes targeting terrorist hideouts in Kandahar and the Chitral sector, destroying a tunnel, technical infrastructure, and equipment storage facilities used by the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij.

Sharing details of Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq on his official X account, Tarar said: “On night of March 14/15, Pakistan Armed Forces targeted military installations including terrorist hideouts of Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij.”

He added that the attacks destroyed technical support infrastructure and equipment storage facilities in Kandahar, which were being used by the Afghan Taliban and other terrorist groups against Pakistani civilians.

“A tunnel that housed technical equipment of Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij was also destroyed in Kandahar,” Tarar said.

He further stated that in the Chitral sector, a terrorist jump-off point at Badini Post in Afghanistan was destroyed through ground forces.

Tarar also provided a detailed summary of losses inflicted on the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij.

According to Tarar, the operations resulted in 684 terrorists killed and more than 912 injured. He said 252 posts were destroyed and 44 posts captured and demolished by Pakistani forces.

The minister added that 229 tanks, armoured vehicles, and artillery guns were destroyed, and 73 terrorist locations and support infrastructure sites were effectively targeted across Afghanistan, primarily through air strikes.

Tarar shared a video showing precision engagement on installations and terrorist camps that directly or indirectly support terrorism from Afghan soil. “No civilian population or infrastructure was targeted as falsely propagated by Afghan regime officials and media,” he added.

The latest escalation in tensions between the two countries follows a series of tit-for-tat actions over the past year.

Pakistan earlier carried out air strikes targeting camps of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Islamic State Khorasan Province inside Afghanistan after a wave of attacks in Pakistan, including a suicide bombing in Islamabad.

Pakistani security sources said more than 80 terrorists were killed in those strikes. The strikes prompted attacks by Afghanistan along the border, leading to the breakout of the latest round of open conflict.

Islamabad has long maintained that TTP leaders operate from Afghan territory, an allegation that Kabul has repeatedly denied.

Tensions also surged after a series of explosions in Kabul on October 9 last year. Taliban forces subsequently targeted areas along Pakistan’s border, prompting Islamabad to respond with cross-border shelling.

The exchanges caused casualties and infrastructure damage on both sides and led to the suspension of trade after border crossings were closed on October 12, 2025.
