Officer Ahsan Zulfiqar succumbed to bullet injuries sustained during police operation at suspect’s DHA residence

In the Mustafa Amir murder case, a wounded DSP who was injured during a raid at Armaghan’s house has passed away after remaining in a life-and-death struggle for several months.
According to police officials, the injured DSP, Ahsan Zulfiqar, was under treatment at Liaquat National Hospital. He had sustained multiple bullet wounds to different parts of his body.
The announcement regarding his funeral prayer will be made later.
Mustafa Amir, 23, went missing from Karachi’s DHA on January 6, 2023. His body was discovered 39 days later in Balochistan, confirming that he had been murdered.
Police and the CPLC had conducted an operation on February 8, 2025, at the suspect Armaghan’s house, located at Bungalow No. 35, Street No. 7, Khayaban-e-Momin, Defence, to recover the abducted Mustafa.
Armaghan Qureshi, an acquaintance of Mustafa, was arrested on February 8 after a four-hour standoff with the police, during which he fired on officers, injuring a DSP and a constable.

During the operation, the suspect Armaghan, opened fire on the police using modern weapons, as a result of which DSP Ahsan Zulfiqar and Constable Muhammad Iqbal were injured by gunfire.
Mustafa murder case
The investigation revealed that both Mustafa and Armaghan were involved in drug-related activities, particularly in the cannabis trade. Armaghan, a known drug user, had a history of criminal involvement, including a case in 2019 related to drug importation.
Before the murder, Armaghan and Mustafa had a personal dispute that escalated into violence. Armaghan invited Mustafa to his bungalow to consume drugs together, where he assaulted Mustafa with an iron rod and later bound him before dragging him down the stairs.
Afterward, Armaghan and his accomplice, Shiraz, disposed of Mustafa’s body in a car, setting it on fire in Hub. The investigation also uncovered Armaghan’s attempt to cover up the crime, instructing his employees to clean the bloodstains and taking Mustafa’s belongings, including his mobile phone.
