“Look between the X and Y letters on your keyboard”: Everything you need to know about the new “X” trend

There’s never a dull moment when a meme grabs attention on social media. And now the meme “Look between x and y on your keyboard” is going viral on “X”. It’s confusing, right? Because then, apart from the letter f, there isn’t much that catches your eye between those letters. So what’s this meme about? Why is everyone jumping on this trend?

Well, it all started in May 2021 on 4Chan, a place where people share images and thoughts anonymously. Someone posted a meme featuring a K-On character with the caption, “I’m bored looking between the t and o on the keys” (yes, they misspelled it on purpose) .

Now, if you look between the t and o on your keyboard, you’ll find y, u, and i, spelling out Yui, a character from an anime series about high school girls forming a band. ‘X’ user @KeionDaisuki_01 also reposted it, showing how the trend spread.

Then people started creating their own versions of the meme by replacing the x and y with different letters. Now it’s an interesting way to send hidden messages. For example, someone wrote, “The only person who can make your life better is… look between the Y and I on your keyboard,” oh, “U (you).”

And just like that, a meme trend started, making fun of everything from RCB fans to those referencing Lucky’s ‘u, a, e, o’ from the ‘Golmaal’ series.

Let’s take a look:

However, this meme wasn’t just limited to the anime world. People from all over the world began joining in the fun. Some people kept it anime-related, but others had creative ideas, such as one who suggested looking for the letter between “u” and “p,” which spells out the initials of a character from another anime called “My Hero Academia.”

And Indians also got in on the action, adding their own jokes and references to the mix. It’s amazing to see how something as simple as a keyboard meme can bring people together and make them laugh, no matter where they come from or what they’re into. Next time you scroll through social media, pay attention to hidden keyboard messages. You never know what interesting surprises you will find.
