LINCOLN PARK, Mich. (CBS Detroit) — A Lincoln Park business is offering free chips and salsa for a year to the lucky winner who correctly guesses a dog’s breed.

The Detroit Salsa Company took in Chip after he was abandoned, and owners sent him for DNA testing to determine his actual breed, which is now available for anyone to guess.

Those interested can put down $5 to make a prediction, and money raised will be split between Golden Leash, a Wyandotte dog day care center, and Friends of the River Rouge Animal Shelter.

“When we found Chip, the two businesses worked together to offer their services, share contacts and information, answer questions, and educate us on the law and more. We want to help them continue helping animals in need,” the owners said on social media.

Participants can make their guess by visiting the store (3464 Fort St., Livonia), send $5 online or mail a check in. The owner said if there are multiple winners, one will be chosen at random.

For more information about the contest, visit the Detroit Salsa Company Facebook page.
