A re-vote will be held today in four booths in the Betul seat

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Officials said re-polls will be held in four booths in Betul Lok Sabha seat on Friday. He said dry days and holidays had been announced for areas where a re-vote would take place.

The official said the re-polls will be held from 7 am to 6 pm on Friday at Government Integrated High School, Rajapur, Government Integrated High School, Raiyat, Kunda Government Primary School, Raiyat and Government Integrated High School, Chikrimal. It is said that These booths belong to the Multai parliamentary segment of the Betul parliamentary seat. The official said the poll participants left on Thursday after collecting necessary supplies for conducting the exercise from Government Comprehensive Girls’ School in Betul Ganj.

Elections were delayed after a bus carrying electronic voting machines (EVMs) and post-voting workers caught fire near the Sonora Gaula village of Betul on Tuesday night, damaging several electronic voting machines (EVMs). The management committee on Wednesday ordered fresh elections in the four booths. Said. Poll officials had earlier said that an estimated 72.65 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the Betul Lok Sabha seat on Tuesday.

Betul was among the nine seats in Madhya Pradesh that went to polls in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections. Eight candidates are contesting from the Betul seat, with Bharatiya Janata Party’s Durgadas Wiki and Congress’ Ram Tekam in the fray. The BJP has been winning the Betul seat since 1996.

Inked on the middle finger of the voter’s left hand

The official said during the re-voting process voters’ left middle finger will be inked. He said dry days and holidays had been announced for areas where a re-vote would take place.
