Tomorrow (Sunday): Skies will be mostly clear with a chance of light rain and storms increasing again in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s F, which may feel like the low 100s in the most muggy locations. Overnight temperatures will again drop to around 75 F.
Thunderstorms and heat to continue through Wednesday
A cold front is expected to move in late Wednesday night into Thursday, dropping temperatures, meaning we’ll be facing heat, humidity and the possibility of thunderstorms every day. There appears to be a slight chance of a few severe thunderstorms over the coming week, but the greatest chance of widespread severe storms is Wednesday as the cold front approaches.
While hopes are high that a few less severe storms will bring cooler temperatures and water, people will also be faced with a heat index that could send temperatures soaring to 105 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit Monday through Wednesday, leading the National Weather Service to warn of hot and humid weather on Monday and issue a heat watch.
