Radhika Merchant, the youngest child of Asia’s richest man, and Anant Ambani will marry at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on July 12. Guests will enjoy a weekend of celebrations, including an event on July 13 and a reception on July 14.
In March, the couple’s wedding became a hot topic on social media after videos and pictures emerged from a lavish pre-wedding celebration hosted by the Ambani family. Mukesh Ambani, the family patriarch and chairman of Reliance Industries, has a net worth of $123.4 billion. His wife, Nita Ambani, is a philanthropist and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation.
Their pre-wedding celebrations have been lavish, including hiring Rihanna for a private performance in March, and their most recent event, a sangeet ceremony in Mumbai on Friday, was no exception.
Anant and Radhika hosted a traditional music extravaganza to bring the couple’s families together. The couple appeared in outfits designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
As expected, the Ambanis performed better than expected. Justin Bieber was booked. Paparazzi captured photos of Bieber arriving in Mumbai on Friday, and Bieber shared several photos from the event on his Instagram account on Saturday.
He was seen in a few pictures with Merchant and Anant.
Videos of Bieber singing songs such as “Sorry” at the party have been garnering attention on Twitter and TikTok, as well as on the official account of French media outlet Le Parisien.
A representative for Bieber did not respond to Business Insider’s request for comment.
The event was a star-studded affair.
Celebrities and athletes show off their style
At the sangeet, several celebrities, including actresses Kiara Advani and Siddharth Malhotra, posed for photographs.
Actor Varun Dhawan was also present at the event along with his wife Natasha Dalal while Vidya Balan was also present along with her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Other actors included Javed Jafferji, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor.
Several players also posed for photos.
Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his wife Sakshi Dhoni were present at the event together.
Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya are also seen in the picture.
The Ambani family is used to hosting celebrities, with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Microsoft founder Bill Gates among the guests at their pre-wedding party in March.
