AMPED breaks ground on new technology learning center in Portland area

A Black-funded nonprofit turned over the soil and began construction on a technology training center. AMPED held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Russell Station Technology and Learning Center on W Market Street on Saturday. The event also celebrated AMPED’s 10th anniversary of service. This nonprofit organization helps adults get jobs in the technology industry. “We want everyone who walks through that door to have the same opportunities,” said Dave W. Christopher He Sr., president and founder of AMPED. “This technology training center will have a comprehensive range of services. “There will be a duel daycare, so people won’t have to worry.” The Russell Station Tech and Learning Center, he said, is scheduled to open in 2025. Construction on the center begins Monday.

LOUISVILLE, KY —

A Black-funded nonprofit turned over the dirt and began construction of a technical training center.

AMPED held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Russell Station Technology and Learning Center on W Market Street on Saturday.

The event also celebrated 10 years of AMPED. This nonprofit organization helps adults find jobs in the technology industry.

“We want to give everyone who walks through its doors the same opportunity, and this technology training center will have wraparound services,” said Dave W. Christopher Sr., president and founder of AMPED. Because we have Duel Daycare, people feel safe coming.” No need to worry. ”

Russell Station Tech and Learning Center is scheduled to open in 2025. Construction on the center begins Monday.
