Lawyers for former president and current criminal defendant Donald Trump stood before nine U.S. Supreme Court justices on Thursday and, in Trump’s words, dogged their client, granting the president absolute immunity. I begged for recognition.
The desire for immunity stems from the fact that President Trump has nearly twice as many criminal charges as the Star-Spangled Banner. And the reason why there is even a need for the Supreme Court to consider whether the president can be effectively above the law stems from the fact that many Americans have given themselves over to brainwashing by con artists. I’m talking about Trump, in case you’re not. It is not clear – who is leaving behind the trail of the crime.
No president has ever had to assert absolute presidential immunity because no president has ever been so diligent about prosecutions and trials.
This system has worked well for every president this country has ever had, including Richard Nixon. But are we to believe that President Trump, for some inexplicable reason, is so persecuted that the high court has to intervene to protect him?
President Trump’s desire for absolute immunity is deeply selfish
One of those justices didn’t just stand up and say, “Okay, this is ridiculous” during Thursday’s oral argument. Everyone has to stop! ” I’m sorry. In fact, Americans had to listen to Mr. Trump’s lawyer argue that the president’s ordering the military to assassinate a political opponent “may be an official act” that merits immunity. Well, that’s just weird.
The bizarre story unfolded while Trump himself sat in the dock in a Manhattan courtroom, listening to testimony from a man named David Pecker, former publisher of the sleazy National Enquirer.
Pecker said of the “catch-and-kill” arrangement to cover up Trump’s alleged affair with Playboy model Karen McDougal, saying, “There was no way the story could embarrass Trump or embarrass or hurt his campaign.” I didn’t want that,” he said.
It’s embarrassing for all of us.
As if that wasn’t enough to make us scratch our heads, a federal judge on Thursday upheld the verdict in author E. Jean Carroll’s defamation lawsuit and $83 million in damages against Trump, The president’s motion for a new trial was denied.
where is maga? Why aren’t MAGA believers protesting Trump’s trial/mourning party?
The former president shouted, “Absolute immunity!”
As a general rule, those seeking “absolute immunity” face the most legal problems. That’s certainly the case with Trump. And it would be natural for good, normal people to look at the totality of Trump-related legal developments in just one day and ask, “How the hell did we get here?”
The answer is simple. Serious judges on the Supreme Court pondered whether it was legal for a president to stage a coup or two, and ended up in this position. Because not enough Americans are immune to fraudsters like Donald Trump.
It’s the same reason apparently malicious email scams still work.
It’s the same reason President Trump sends out clearly unpleasant emails asking for money and brings in large sums of cash.
It’s the same reason people are catfished online by agents of foreign criminal organizations and end up losing their savings.
The Republican Party will become Trump’s piggy bank:President Trump turned the Republican Party into a blackmail racket with one letter.
Trump is suddenly facing consequences, and well, he doesn’t like it
Mr. Trump has spent his life plodding along, squeezing contractors, using bankruptcy laws, and avoiding consequences at every step.
He became president but ultimately left office as the first president in American history to deny the results of a free and fair election. He incited his supporters with lies and watched as his supporters attacked the Capitol to prevent a peaceful transfer of power.
And now, with the aforementioned repercussions looming larger than ever, he is seeking absolute immunity from the three-judge tribunal he established for everything he denies having done. He wants to do so, so he can return to the office he tainted by avoiding prosecution. That should disqualify him from running for public office in the first place.
Does it make sense? Of course not.
Is the presidential office a “base for criminal activity”? Trump says, “Yes, please!”
During Thursday’s hearing, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson said: “What am I trying to understand if the most powerful person in the world can commit a crime and not be punished?” Deterrence The problem is that the Oval Office of the President has become a hub for criminal activity in this country. ”
To which I answer: None!
And that’s exactly what President Trump wants. If he is to be elected president again, he needs absolute immunity to continue or delay the charges he faces, but if he wins he wants absolute immunity so he can take revenge on all he claims have wronged him. I’m here.
ridiculous. That’s a disadvantage. And those who don’t yet understand that are tragically a big part of the problem.
No president, Trump or anyone else, should be afforded absolute immunity.
Meanwhile, Americans urgently need to develop immunity to fraud. Ideally, before they realize they’re being ruled by a mad king.
