The Anantnag district administration is making comprehensive preparations for pilgrims ahead of the Amarnath pilgrimage which begins on June 29.

Early on Saturday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha virtually attended the ‘Pratam Puja’ of Amarnath at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar, marking the start of the annual Amarnath pilgrimage.
Through a video conference, he expressed his commitment and support for the sacred journey, while stressing the importance of faith and unity.
Speaking to ANI about the arrangements being made ahead of the pilgrimage, Minister Manoj Sinha said, “From June 29, devotees across the country can have darshan of ‘Baba Amarnath’… All necessary facilities have been provided for the devotees who will come. Safety measures are also in place….”

Jammu Deputy Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain on Friday said they will ensure that the pilgrims’ pilgrimage is smooth, safe and successful, adding that the police are reviewing the arrangements for the Amarnath pilgrimage.
“We are reviewing the preparations for Amarnath pilgrimage. We will ensure implementation of cut-off times to ensure smooth flow of pilgrims to and from Jammu and Kashmir. More policemen and traffic police will be deployed on the under-construction roads,” Jammu ADGP told ANI.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is taking significant steps to make the Amarnath pilgrimage safe and comfortable for devotees. Last year, over 4.5 lakh devotees took part in the holy darshan.
Shri Amarnath Yatra is an important annual pilgrimage for Hindus, which this year began on June 29 and is scheduled to end on August 19.

The Amarnath pilgrimage involves an arduous trek to the Amarnath cave temple in Jammu and Kashmir, and safety is a major concern as the pilgrimage draws hundreds of thousands of devotees every year.

The annual pilgrimage, which lasts for about 45 days, has become a major concern for the government following recent terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
Amid growing security concerns and the challenging terrain of the pilgrimage route, authorities are taking all measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pilgrims.
