SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Local entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to receive up-close-and-personal coaching on how to get their businesses off the ground and even meet with investors.

The program, called Launch Savannah, is being implemented by the City of Savannah in partnership with Creative Coast, a nonprofit organization that aims to connect entrepreneurs with other industry professionals.

Applications are currently being accepted for this potentially once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“They can apply now to take their business from idea to startup to reality with this 12-week program,” said Nick Palumbo, Executive Director of Creative Coast.

Launch Savannah has 15 spots available. Over the course of 12 weeks, the lucky 15 people hired will receive a personalized, face-to-face experience with experts in the industry they are entering.

“Sometimes the best way to learn it is to learn from someone who has been there before. So we offer these services and opportunities to these companies for free, and at the end of the 12 weeks, , we’re going to have a viable small business that we can promote here in the community,” Palumbo said.

Launch Savannah is free, so applicants only need to commit to the program on their own time. Sessions are once a week for 2 hours. This program may also help raise funds, potentially benefiting both businesses and the Savannah community as a whole.

“At the end of the 12-week period, we’re going to bring in angel investors to pitch these companies and provide investment opportunities for companies that are growing here in our community,” Palumbo said.

Applications are due by May 17th.
