RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech University officials say they are working to keep the cost of education affordable for students next academic year.

ATU officials said in a statement on Friday that the school will not increase tuition, mandatory fees or student accommodation fees for the 2024-25 academic year.

ATU Interim President Dr Russell Jones emphasised the importance of the decision.

“These are difficult times for Arkansans and their families,” Jones said. “Inflationary pressures and other economic factors are forcing Arkansans to make difficult choices.”

Jones added that it is important that individuals and families have access to higher education so they can improve their lives.

“Arkansas Tech is pleased to be able to keep tuition, mandatory fees and residence hall fees constant for the 2024-25 academic year,” Jones said. “This has always been a place of opportunity, and it is important that we stay true to that mission.”

The couple graduated from Arkansas Tech University along with their child.

According to the announcement, ATU is the only public four-year university in Arkansas that will not increase tuition, mandatory fees or student housing costs in the 2024-25 academic year.
