COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The United States Basketball Association announced the 2024 USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team on Wednesday afternoon. Ryne Howard He is one of four members who will represent the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The four members are Cameron Brink, Sierra Burdick, Ryne Howard, Hailey Van Lith. The official members were selected by the USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team Committee following training camp earlier this summer.
3×3 games differ from 5×5 in that they are played in the half court with a 10-minute game clock and a 12-second shot clock. Play is continuous, with teams “clearing” the ball behind the two-point line after a made basket, defensive rebound, or steal. The first team to score 21 points, either with a one-point field goal or a two-point shot behind the arc, wins. If time expires, the team leading wins.
Each member of the team has experience in both 5-on-5 and 3×3 with USA Basketball. The four players recently attended the 2024 USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team training camp in Springfield, Massachusetts, and then competed at the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Springfield stop.
Jennifer Rizzotti, president of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun, will serve as head coach during the Olympics, with Tammy Rice (University of Rhode Island) serving as assistant coach.
