Security forces have killed two Indian-backed terrorists and arrested two others during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Duki district, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.

The operation was launched on reports of the presence of members of Fitna al Hindustan, described by the military as an Indian proxy group operating in the region.

“Security forces effectively engaged the Indian-sponsored terrorists’ location,” said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement. “After an intense exchange of fire, two Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell, while two were apprehended.”

Security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from the terrorists, who were involved in a series of terrorist activities in the area. A sanitisation operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists.

“The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said. It added that the operation reaffirmed the nation’s “unwavering resolve to bring the perpetrators of terrorism to justice.”

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari lauded the security forces for their successful intelligence-based operation in Duki district, Balochistan, which led to the killing of two Indian-backed terrorists.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the president praised the courage and professionalism of the security personnel, saying their bravery in neutralising threats to national security was commendable.

“The entire nation is proud of the professional competence, bravery, and sacrifices of our security forces,” said President Zardari. “The people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces.”

He affirmed Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to root out Indian-sponsored terrorism from its soil. “Our security forces are determined to eradicate Indian-backed terrorism from the country,” he said.

President Zardari vowed that the fight against terrorism would continue until its complete elimination. “Our struggle will persist until the menace of terrorism is fully wiped out,” he declared.

A day earlier, 14 terrorists were also killed during an exchange of fire following a suicide attack on a military convoy in North Waziristan, which martyred 13 servicemen and injured three civilians — two children and a woman.

A vehicle-borne suicide bomber attempted to detonate himself near the security forces’ convoy but was intercepted by the leading group, foiling his nefarious design,” the military’s media wing, the ISPR, said in a statement.

“However, in their desperation, an explosive-laden vehicle was rammed into one of the vehicles of the leading group by the Indian-sponsored Kharjis,” it added. “As a result, 13 brave sons of the soil embraced shahadat.”
