ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI:

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday extended the interim bail of Bushra Bibi, the wife of the PTI founder, in 31 cases linked to the November 26 protests, until April 29.

ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah also extended the interim bails of Azam Swati, Naeem Panjutha, Mishal Yousafzai and Sanam Javed until April 15, while PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja was granted bail extension until April 21 in cases related to the October 5 protests.

The court also ordered Bushra Bibi to join the investigation in FIRs registered in Attock, instructing that she be interrogated in the presence of her husband — incarcerated PTI founding chairman Imran Khan — and legal counsel.

During the proceedings, the investigation team informed the court that Bushra Bibi had already joined investigations in cases registered in Rawalpindi district, but the probe remained incomplete. The court directed the investigators to complete the inquiry and submit the report before the next hearing.

All investigation officers concerned and Special Prosecutor Syed Zaheer Shah were present during the hearing.

The court has adjourned further proceedings on the interim bail applications in the 31 November 26 cases till April 29.

In a parallel development in Islamabad, ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra granted interim bail to PTI leader Omar Ayub in eight separate FIRs linked to the November 26 protests. The court restrained police from arresting him until April 29 and directed him to cooperate with the investigations.

Ayub appeared in court alongside his legal team and submitted bail-before-arrest applications in eight cases registered at several police stations, including Kohsar, Margalla, Tarnol and Aabpara police stations.
