“It’s all so traumatic,” she told him.
Sellers said the thought of her possibly losing her life in such a vicious attack brought her to tears.
“Thankfully, my daughter was born at the right time. I don’t know what happened,” she said.
She said on May 14, she was in the driveway of her home near Joseph E. Lowry Boulevard and Peoples Street when a man ran up to her and began stabbing her.
There were puncture wounds all over one side of her body.
“I had eight on my back and six on my arms,” she said.
Sellers owns Wadada Healthy Market & Juice Bar on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard in the West End.
She lives within walking distance of her workplace.
Sellers had been driving home that night and was walking down her driveway.
She said CCTV footage showed the attacker chasing her.
He began stabbing her.
“I was screaming at the top of my lungs,” she said.
Sellers said her daughter got out, but the attacker continued rummaging through her purse.
She said her son then came out and chased his father, who then got into a getaway car and drove off.
Sellers was rushed to hospital.
She said security camera footage showed the assailant waiting near her home and she was convinced he was the target.
That’s why she has this message for business owners in the area.
“I would urge people to be more careful and more vigilant,” she said.
Sellers said she is grateful to be alive and thankful her children came to her rescue.
“I’m so glad they listened to me,” she said.
