Panic and tension gripped Gilgit on Sunday after unidentified gunmen launched two separate attacks targeting prominent cleric Maulana Qazi Nisar Ahmed and senior judge Malik Inayatur Rehman. The assaults left five people injured and forced businesses across the city to shut down. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rain, thunderstorms, strong winds and snowfall in northern parts of the country over the next 24 hours, warning of flash flooding and damage to weak installations. According to the PMD, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and Punjab are expected to be hit by gusty winds, dust storms, thunderstorms and rain, while mountainous areas may receive snowfall. ISLAMABAD: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has asked Pakistan to publicly disclose $11 billion worth of discrepancies in trade data reported by two government entities over the last two fiscal years, raising questions about the credibility of the country’s external sector indicators. Government sources told The Express Tribune that imports reported by Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) were $5.1 billion lower than those reported by Pakistan Single Window (PSW) for fiscal year 2023-24.
