Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman has postponed the much-publicized initial public offering of Pershing Square USA after failing to raise the “capital funds” he was seeking, The Washington Post has learned. The closed-end fund, which was expected to raise between $2.5 billion and $4 billion, has now been postponed to an undisclosed date, according to a notice posted on the NYSE website Friday. “Bill was unable to raise the more than $1 billion he raised from his friends,” a source directly involved in the IPO told The Post on Friday. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration considers fentanyl to be the nation’s “greatest and most imminent drug threat.”According to the Utah News-Dispatch, Utah has already seized a record number of fentanyl pills this year.In 2023, the DEA and its local partners seized more than 664,000 fentanyl pills, setting a new annual record. By June of this year, that record had already been broken. In just six months, more than 774,000 pills were seized across the state.Lt. Last week’s global technology outage was traced to a bug in the quality control system of US cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike. The impact of the outage was widespread, affecting around 8.5 million Windows devices and disrupting banks, emergency call centers and airlines. Fortune 500 companies, excluding Microsoft, face an estimated $5.4 billion in losses due to the outage, according to insurer Parametrix.
