The human papillomavirus vaccination campaign across Karachi and the rest of Sindh has been extended by three days. During the 12-day drive, 59% of eligible girls were vaccinated, while sessions will continue in schools to cover the remaining 41%. Mobile teams have also been instructed to continue catch-up activities. PESHAWAR: Dengue cases are on the rise across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with health officials confirming 95 new infections in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of cases reported this month to 1,273. According to a health department report, Charsadda, Mansehra, Haripur, Peshawar, Kohat, Swabi, and Mardan have been declared high-risk districts for dengue. In the past 24 hours, 23 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the province. Charsadda has recorded the highest number of cases in September, with 256 patients. ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has approved an increase of Rs0.19 per unit in the electricity tariff under the monthly fuel cost adjustment mechanism. The hike will apply to all electricity distribution companies, including K-Electric, but will exclude lifeline consumers, prepaid users, and electric vehicle charging stations. According to a notification issued by NEPRA, the hike falls under the August Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) mechanism and will be reflected in electricity bills for October.
