Firefighters have extinguished a vegetation fire along the American River Parkway in Sacramento. The fire broke out just before 4 p.m., just west of the Capital City Freeway. Caltrans cameras at Business 80 and Elvas Avenue showed a column of thick, black smoke. According to the Sacramento Fire Department, the fire has burned three acres. KCRA 3 crews saw the fire burn up onto the freeway.
