Max Verstappen slowed McLaren’s Formula One dominance on Sunday with a phenomenal display of driving on his way to victory at the Italian Grand Prix, the fastest ever race in the sport’s history. Starting from pole, reigning world champion Verstappen completed a magical weekend at Monza, which included the fastest lap ever in F1 during Saturday’s qualifying by schooling McLaren pair Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri at Monza. Red Bull’s Verstappen has little chance of securing a fifth straight drivers’ title as he still trails championship leader Piastri by 94 points, with the Australian finishing third. “It was really enjoyable,”…

LAHORE: Despite official reassurances of a smooth relief operation, a grim reality lurks in Punjab’s flood-stricken districts, where health issues are escalating given outbreak of flood-related diseases. While provincial authorities highlight rescue figures and medical camps, evidence from the ground shows overwhelmed health units, shortage of medicines, and citizens left to fend for themselves in disease-ridden waters. Doctors and aid workers say patients suffering from diarrhoea, skin infections, and dengue often wait for hours, sometimes days, for proper treatment. In some camps, anti-malarial drugs and rabies vaccines have reportedly run out, leaving residents vulnerable. “We are treating dozens of patients in tents without enough supplies. Official…

Those are the kinds of career ladder success arcs that have inspired workers, and Hollywood, but as AI is set to replace many entry-level jobs, it may also write that corporate character out of the plot. The rise of AI has coincided with considerable…
