Flood-like conditions have developed in Mailsi after water flow in the Sutlej River surged, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said. At Head Ganda Singh, inflow and outflow were recorded at 118,652 cusecs, while Head Sulemanki saw inflows of 89,267 cusecs with 82,008 cusecs outflow. Head Islam reported an inflow of 42,195 cusecs and an outflow of 40,295 cusecs, and at Head Syphon, both inflow and outflow stood at 36,682 cusecs. At least 11 people, including three children, lost their lives and 47 others were injured as torrential rains and a windstorm battered Dera Ismail Khan and Lower Dir in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Of the 11 casualties, eight were reported in Dera Ismail Khan and three in Lower Dir, taking the cumulative rain-related death toll in the province to over 400. DI KHAN: Security forces on Saturday killed two militants belonging to the banned Hafiz Gul Bahadur group during a targeted operation in the Jani Khel area of Bannu district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. According to security sources, the operation was carried out against members of Jamaatul Ansar al-Mahdi Khurasan, an offshoot of the banned outfit.
