Italian orienteering athlete Mattia Debertolis died on Tuesday at the World Games in Chengdu, China after collapsing during competition, organisers said. Debertolis, 29, was found unconscious during an orienteering event on August 8 and died four days later, said a joint statement from World Games organisers and the International Orienteering Federation (IOF). The World Games is a multisport event held every four years for disciplines not included in the Olympics. “Despite receiving immediate expert medical care at one of China’s leading medical institutions, he passed away,” the statement said. ISLAMABAD: The United States on Monday formally designated the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its suicide unit, the Majeed Brigade, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO), in a move hailed in Islamabad as a major boost to Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts. ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to establish the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) to oversee all matters related to virtual assets, including cryptocurrency licensing and regulation, officials said on Monday. According to the authorities, the new body will handle the licensing process for crypto businesses, supervising virtual asset service providers (Vasp) and monitor all related activities in line with the standards of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
