In a shocking incident, two ballot boxes in the US states of Washington and Oregon were set on fire in a suspected arson attack early Monday morning (local time), and election officials at one site said hundreds of ballots had been dropped off. He said that it appears to be. It’s been lost. The police said, “All drop boxes will be burned.” A note reading “FREE GAZA” implicates anti-Israel demonstrators in the incident.

On Monday, fires caused by incendiary devices were discovered at ballot boxes in Vancouver, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. Most of the fires in Portland were extinguished using built-in fire extinguishers, but hundreds of ballots were incinerated in a drop box at Vancouver’s Fishers Landing Transit Center. A similar incident was reported in Vancouver earlier this month, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said the recent ballot burning incident may be related to an arson incident earlier this month.

But just hours after the fire was extinguished, election officials said: new york post The letter was found in a ballot box in a Vancouver Mall parking lot. Officials said the box contained a white piece of paper folded in half. It is unclear whether the statement came from those involved in the arson, but sources said all three incendiary devices were engraved with the slogan “Liberate Gaza.”

Investigators believe the two incidents are related and have identified a “suspect vehicle” from surveillance footage, said Mike Benner, a spokesman for the Portland Police Bureau. The Federal Bureau of Investigation said it was investigating both incidents “to determine who is responsible.”

Portland election officials said the fire caused a canister inside a ballot box to explode, releasing a fire extinguishing powder and preserving nearly all ballots. NYT reported. The Multnomah County Elections Department said it will contact each affected voter to ensure they receive a replacement ballot. The ministry also urged citizens to call 911 if they see any unusual activity near the ballot box.
