What are Bermuda Shorts?

Bermuda shorts stand out for their long hem and tailored finish. Spanning at or above the knee, these shorts have a wide fit that feels comfortable next to the skin. Why are they called Bermuda shorts?

Bermuda shorts were created in Bermuda as a more comfortable alternative to trousers worn in the hot Bermudian summer, especially for people working in high temperatures. They were later adopted by members of the British military stationed in Bermuda during World War I, and were worn in other warm climates as well.
