Indian all-rounder Ajay Jadiya, who coached Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup 2023, revealed that in Afghanistan vs Pakistan matches, the enthusiasm among players was 10 times higher compared to India vs Pakistan matches. Recalling Afghanistan’s eight-wicket win over Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup 2023, the former Indian player said that the players of the victorious team were behaving like ‘Bin Peer Sharabi’. Chasing a target of 283 runs in the match, Afghanistan homered in the 49th over to record their first ever ODI win against Pakistan.

“That day, I saw players getting high without drinking,” Ajay Jadiya told Caught Behind.

Ajay Jadiya was appointed leader of Afghanistan ahead of the Cricket World Cup 2023 and under his rule the country recorded historic victories.

Ibrahim Zadran scored 87 runs off 113 balls and was named man of the match.

“All my friends have been asking me how I felt and I have told them the intensity of the India-Pakistan match multiplied by 10. Everyone is shocked to hear this,” Jediya said.

Supporting Jadiya’s views, former Pakistan player Rashid Latif said: “When I was coaching Afghanistan at the Asian Games in Hangzhou and the team beat Pakistan, I saw the players getting high afterwards without consuming alcohol.”

Afghanistan suffered a four-wicket defeat to Pakistan in the semi-finals of the men’s cricket competition at the 2023 Asian Games.

Chasing a target of 116 runs in the T20I match, Afghanistan reached home with 13 balls remaining.

In the ongoing T20 World Cup, Afghanistan has been placed in Group C along with West Indies, Uganda, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Pakistan are in Group A with India, Ireland, Canada and the United States and are in danger of being eliminated, coach Babar Azam’s side said.
