Mumbai: According to Navi Mumbai police, a month before the arrest of two suspects in the shooting outside actor Salman Khan’s house, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had hatched another plan to kill Khan at his farmhouse in Panvel.

table of contents Police have managed to access details of the investigation. A copy of the FIR filed at Panvel police station in Navi Mumbai shows that jailed gangster Bishnoi, his cousin Anmol Bishnoi, who lives in Canada, and accomplice Goldy Brar had planned to kill the actor by procuring sophisticated weapons like AK-47, M-16 and AK-92 from a Pakistani arms supplier. Police sources said the aim was probably to ambush his vehicle or attack his farmhouse. Investigators are yet to say why the second plot, targeting the actor’s Bandra residence, was executed.

Navi Mumbai police last week arrested four people linked to the earlier plot and are searching for at least 15-20 members of the Bishnoi gang, who have been staying near Khan’s farm since February this year. The gang has been targeting Khan for their alleged involvement in the killing of a black deer by him in Rajasthan in 1998 while making a film.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Dhananjay Tapesinh alias Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia alias Nahvi, Vaspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna and Rizwan Khan alias Javed Khan. The conspiracy came to light last month after Senior Inspector Nitin Thackeray received a tip-off that a few people were planning to attack Khan’s farmhouse.

“It has come to light recently that after the Bandra shooting, Bishnoi had sent several men to Navi Mumbai, specifically Ajay Kashyap and others, who were nicknamed Rocky Shooter, Satish Kaul and Sukha Shooter,” the officer said.

Bishnoi himself is in pretrial detention in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat. Police last week arrested four suspects who, during the course of their investigation, said Ajay Kashyap had been in contact through video conferencing with a liaison in Pakistan, identified only as Dogar.
