MYSORE: BJP state general secretary Nandish Reddy on Tuesday asked party workers and cadres to work hard to win more seats in the upcoming zilla panchayat and taluk panchayat elections. Addressing a special executive committee meeting of the party in Mysore district, Reddy said the local body elections could be announced anytime. “We need to strengthen the party at the booth level to win the elections,” he said, adding, “Our aim is to bring the party back to power in the state. For that, we need to win more seats in south Karnataka, especially in Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Hassan.” Reddy said party workers need to work to strengthen support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is determined to make India a superpower. “Between August 15 and 30, the party will be conducting massive voter outreach programmes at booth level to explain to voters the failures of the state government and our commitment towards the welfare of all. “Corruption is rampant in the state under the noses of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,” he alleged. BJP state OBC Morcha president R Raghu said Siddaramaiah has been cheating people of backward regions. BJP district chief MV Ravishankar and Mysore unit president LR Mahadevaswamy were present at the event.
