The long-running elections for all 543 Lok Sabha seats, 175 seats in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, 60 seats in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly, 147 seats in the Odisha Assembly and 32 seats in the Sikkim Assembly began on April 19, with millions of people casting their votes.

Voting for the Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections took place simultaneously on April 19, while voting for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections took place simultaneously on May 13. The Odisha Assembly elections were held in four phases on May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1.
The results of the state assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim will be announced on June 2, while those in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh will be announced on June 4 along with the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

According to exit polls, the BJP is likely to win 15 of Odisha’s 21 Lok Sabha seats, while Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s BJD is likely to win between three and eight seats.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is seeking re-election in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections in 2024 and is looking to improve on his party’s performance in 2019. In the last state assembly elections, his party, the YSRCP, won a landslide victory, winning 151 seats.
Rival N. Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won 23 seats while actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena could win just one seat.
In the Odisha Assembly elections, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is confident of winning at least 115 of the 147 seats.
The BJD won 113 seats in the 2019 elections.
The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), under the leadership of Prem Singh Tamang, is seeking a second consecutive term in power and is taking on the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), led by former five-term chief minister Pawan Kumar Chamling.
In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, the SKM won 17 seats while the SDF won 15 seats.
The first phase of state assembly and Lok Sabha elections were held simultaneously in Arunachal Pradesh on April 19.
The state assembly elections recorded an estimated voter turnout of 82.71 percent, while the turnout for two seats in India’s lower house of parliament in the northeastern state was 77.51 percent.
The BJP, which won 41 seats in the 2019 Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections, is hoping for a similar performance this year too.
In the 2019 state assembly elections, the JD(U) won seven seats, the NPP five, the Congress four and the PPA one. Two independent candidates also won.
The ruling BJP has already won 10 seats unopposed in the 60-seat Arunachal Pradesh state assembly.
