On Monday, May 13, Marshalltown residents welcomed a new addition to the city’s burgeoning beauty scene as Blink x Celeste Beauty House officially opened at 2501 South Center Street Ste Q. The studio promises to be a fresh expression of glamour and luxury, and aims to wow locals with its services.
At the center of this new venture is Celeste Mendoza, a 25-year-old Latina entrepreneur. Mendoza is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but moved to Marshalltown 14 years ago. She attended Marshalltown High School, graduating in 2016. A few years later, she earned her esthetician certification from the World of Beauty Academy.
While juggling life as a stay-at-home mom, Mendoza started out as a self-employed business owner from her own home, with a vision of establishing a beauty studio, and her passion for her work ultimately led her to bring Blink x Celeste Beauty House to life.
“Sometimes it can feel scary to take on a new adventure or start your own business. It’s okay to feel all those emotions. My mottos in life are ‘take it one day at a time’ and ‘you never know until you try’. That’s why I want to inspire and create opportunities for those around me,” Mendoza said.
Specializing in eyelash extensions for nearly four years, Medoza’s expertise began when she decided to try the next chapter of her entrepreneurial journey – opening a salon. Blink x Celeste Beauty House offers services such as eyelash extensions, brow lamination and shaping, and body waxing in a comfortable and serene atmosphere for all.
Mendoza reflected on his passion for his work.
“What I love about being an esthetician is being able to show off my artistic side by creating different eyelash extension styles. It’s so rewarding to see my clients leave feeling confident and excited about my pampering treatments,” she said.
In addition to her own success, Mendoza is also committed to opening new doors of opportunity within the community. Blink x Celeste Beauty House also offers rental space for hair stylists and nail technicians, aiming to be an all-in-one beauty destination.
Mendoza envisions expanding to different cities in the future and hopes to spread her passion for beauty.
