The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls, including notices, last week for more than 394,000 BMW vehicles over concerns about airbags that could lead to injury or death.

Want to see if a recall has been issued for your vehicle? If you don’t see your car listed below, check USA TODAY’s auto recall database or search for new recalls in NHTSA’s database. On the NHTSA website, you can search for recalls based on your vehicle identification number (VIN).

Here’s what you need to know about vehicle recalls announced by NHTSA between July 7 and July 13.

Honda recalls tires due to insufficient information

Honda is recalling 1,725 2024 CR-Vs for missing tire information.

Honda is recalling 1,725 2024 CR-Vs because the tires are missing a four-digit date code required for tire identification numbers, the company said. Missing owners’ TIN information could mean they are unaware their vehicle is subject to a safety recall and continue to drive with the recalled tires. The issue could lead to an increased risk of crashes, the NHTSA report said.

NHTSA said the vehicles did not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 139, “New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles.”

To resolve this issue, dealers will inspect and replace tires, if necessary, free of charge. Recall notices are expected to be sent out on August 12. Owners can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda’s phone number for this recall is BIS.

The luxury car maker said the original steering wheels may have been replaced with sport or M sport steering wheels equipped with inflators that could explode when deployed. If the inflator explodes, sharp metal pieces could strike the driver or other passengers in the car, causing serious injury or death, according to the NHTSA report.

Mechanics will inspect the driver’s airbag module and replace it if necessary. The service will be free of charge. Notification letters will be sent out on August 23rd. Owners can contact BMW Customer Service at 1-800-525-7417.

Chrysler recall

If the tire information on the label is incorrect

Chrysler is recalling 2017-2024 model year Alfa Romeo Giulia vehicles because of incorrect tire information on the label.

Chrysler is recalling a total of 9,037 2017-2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia and 2021-2024 Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles. In the NHTSA report, the automaker said tire pressure and size information on tire placards and manufacturer labels is incorrect. The company said the incorrect tire information could lead to tires being inflated too low or improperly sized tires being installed, which could increase the risk of a crash.

The government agency said the vehicles did not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”

To resolve this issue, dealers will insert the correct tire placard and manufacturer overlay label. This service will be provided free of charge. Recall notices are expected to arrive by August 22nd. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC Customer Service at 1-800-853-1403. The FCA US, LLC phone number for this recall is 81B.

According to the NHTSA report, when front seat airbags don’t deploy properly, it increases the risk of injury in a crash.

As a solution, Chrysler dealers will repair the connection free of charge. Notification letters to owners will be sent out on August 22. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC Customer Service at 1-800-853-1403. The FCA US, LLC telephone number for this recall is 82B.
