CDC is committed to protecting American families, communities, and pets by preventing canine rabies from reintroducing itself into the U.S. Preventing infected dogs from entering the U.S. is a public health priority. CDC recommends that all dogs be vaccinated against canine rabies.
Recent changes
CDC values the feedback it receives from various countries, industry partners, and the public. CDC has simplified the process for fulfilling requirements for dogs arriving from rabies-free or low-risk countries. What do I need to bring my dog to the US?
From August 1, 2024, requirements will change depending on your dog’s situation.

If your dog has not been vaccinated against rabies and has been in a country with a high risk of canine rabies in the past six months, your dog do not have Be allowed into the United States
