QUETTA:

At least four people were killed and 28 others injured when a passenger coach travelling from Sadiqabad to Quetta overturned near the Dosa checkpost in Balochistan’s Bolan district, authorities said on Wednesday.

According to rescue officials, the coach lost control and overturned en route to Quetta. Initial investigations point to driver negligence as a likely cause. Several passengers are reported to be in critical condition, with medical teams working to stabilise them.

Emergency response units, including rescue teams, highway police, the Frontier Corps (FC), and Levies personnel, arrived swiftly at the scene and transported the injured to Civil Hospital Sibi.

Among the deceased, two individuals have been identified, while the identities of the remaining two are yet to be confirmed. The injured include passengers from multiple districts, including Sadiqabad, Thul, Kashmore, Kandhkot, Gambat, Sukkur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Aliabad.

An official investigation into the cause of the crash is underway. Legal proceedings are being supervised by the Balanari Levies Force, with further action pending the outcome of the inquiry.
