CPD said a newly installed gunshot detection system called “Flock” helped make the arrest.
CALDWELL, ID — Two men were arrested in Caldwell after police tech called the Caldwell Police Department (CPD) about a shooting.
According to CPD, it was technically determined that multiple shots were fired near the 300 block of Belmont Street on May 19 at approximately 1 a.m. Police found two suspects in the vehicle with 26 shell casings, an AR-15 rifle, and a 9mm handgun.
Police said 22-year-old Jonathan Anderson was arrested on charges of discharging a firearm within city limits and driving under the influence, and 29-year-old Alex Muniz was charged with driving under the influence.
“The Flock system uses microphones placed in specific locations to detect gunshots and alert authorities. Flock Safety technology helps alert authorities about gunshots and significantly reduces delays in 911 calls. “The system was installed in the city in 2024,” the news release said.
