MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Heat, scatter, and isolated rain and thunderstorms are the forecast for this weekend. Temperatures officially hit 90 degrees on Thursday, the first time Montgomery has reached that number in more than 200 days…and the trend of warmer-than-average days continues.
In fact, trends indicate that temperatures will be above normal into the next week, in the mid/upper 80s to low 90s, with nighttime lows in the mild 60s.
Temperatures will reach the upper 80s to near 90 today. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with southerly winds around 8 mph. There is a chance of rain and thunder today and tonight. Lows will remain in the 60s.

The weekend is expected to be warm, or even hot, while maintaining a summer-like feel. High temperatures will exceed 90 degrees both Saturday and Sunday. Each day has a mix of sun and clouds, with mainly southerly winds.
Like Friday, scattered rain and storms are possible this weekend. Although heavy rain is not expected, have a rain backup plan in case a shower or storm hits your area.
Overnight low temperatures this weekend will remain in the mild 60s under partly cloudy skies. Showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue into the evening.
A borderline chance of rain this weekend will start by Monday and dry by Tuesday.
That means there is a chance of showers or storms on Monday, but trends suggest most areas will remain dry. Highs will climb back into the 90s and overnight lows will be in the 60s starting next week.
The heat will be a big topic next week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will all see highs in the low 90s under mostly sunny to partly sunny skies. Chances of precipitation are very limited and almost zero. Nighttime lows will be in the mild 60s and could even reach the 70s later next week.
