Jiangchao will be in Islamabad for a high-level exchange between Pakistan and China at the invitation of Ishaq Dar.

Liu Jianchao, head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC) and member of the Communist Party Central Committee, is scheduled to visit Islamabad from June 20-22, 2024, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
During the visit, Liu will co-chair the third meeting of the Pakistan-China Joint Consultative Mechanism (JCM) on CPEC with Dar and will also meet senior Pakistani civilian and military leaders.
The Joint Committee on CPEC, established in 2019, is a regular consultative mechanism between the Communist Party of China and Pakistani political parties. Previous meetings were held in Beijing on March 19, 2019 and online on August 20, 2020.
At the third meeting of the Joint Committee, Pakistan and China will review the progress of CPEC projects, CPEC’s contribution to Pakistan’s socio-economic development, and enhancing and expanding regional connectivity.
The visit is part of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China involving the Chinese Communist Party and Pakistani political parties.
The declaration reflects the importance the two countries attach to further deepening their “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership,” reaffirming mutual support on issues concerning their respective core interests, promoting the high-quality development of CPEC, and enhancing communication and dialogue on important regional and global trends.
