Uruguay didn’t look their best against Brazil, but they do have a victory to boast about that no other club has: a World Cup qualifier against Argentina last November, with Nunez scoring.
Simply put, for Uruguay to reach the semifinals, Nunez will need to perform better than he did in the previous two games, a meaningless 1-0 win over the United States after the team had already booked a place in the quarterfinals.
