NEW DELHI: The Indian National Congress on Wednesday announced it would set up six inquiry committees to analyse what happened in eight states, including Karnataka, in the Lok Sabha elections where the party was hoping for a strong performance.
The setting up of the committee comes days after party president Mallikarjun Kharge told the Congress Working Committee that a committee of senior leaders would be set up to probe what had happened in states like Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Telangana and Haryana.
Madhusudan Mistry, Gourav Gogoi and Hibi Eden have been tasked with assessing the results of elections in Karnataka state, where the Indian National Congress returned to power in May last year but won just nine of the 28 seats.
