Congress in shock after Lok Sabha election defeat

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The poor performance of the Indian National Congress in the Lok Sabha elections has come as a huge shock to its members and cadres, who are yet to come out of the situation. The party has not investigated the reasons for such a result. It has not raised any issue with the government.

The Indian National Congress Party leadership has been silent since the announcement of the election results. The results of the state assembly and Lok Sabha elections have left the party highly shaken and the party leaders uncertain about the party’s future in the state.

The Congress Party, which won 66 seats in the parliamentary elections, lost all 29 of its seats in the parliamentary elections. This is the first time since the formation of the state that the Congress Party has lost all of its seats in parliament. The Congress Party is yet to analyse the reasons for its poor performance in both elections.

The party has lost seats in the lower house of the Rajya Sabha for 35 years, but party leaders have never discussed the issue. Immediately after the election results were announced, former Prime Minister Kamal Nath distanced himself from Congress politics.

The ever-dynamic former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh seems shaken by his third defeat. The MPCC leader, who has always been a staunch critic of the government, is also shaken and silent after his party’s defeat on all seats.

Similarly, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhal has remained silent after his party’s defeat in his home constituency. By-elections will be held in Amarwala parliamentary constituency in Chhindwara, which will pose a major challenge for the Indian National Congress, followed by by-elections in Budni parliamentary constituency.

The resignations of Ramniwas Rawat and Nirmala Sapre will lead to by-elections to the Vijaipur and Bina assembly seats, elections that Congress activists are not keen on.

Many BJP leaders left the party during the Lok Sabha elections, and in some areas the party has had to work hard to groom new leaders, but the defeat has put many of these issues on the back burner.
