CHANDIGARH: Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa on Saturday slammed AAP in Punjab for fielding three “borrowed” leaders for Sabah elections.
Opposition leaders in the Punjab Assembly also accused AAP of “failing” to field women candidates.
In a statement, Bajwa said, “It sounds ridiculous that AAP has been active politically for the last over a decade, but it has failed to develop party cadres at the ground level. The only reason.” There is evidence that the people of Punjab still do not trust the party. ”
Congress leaders said the AAP has fielded three “borrowed” candidates. – Former Congress leader Raj Kumar Chabewal from Hoshiarpur, GP Gurpreet Singh from Fatehgarh Sahib and Pawan Kumar Tinu from Jalandhar.
Bajwa also pointed out AAP ministers and MLAs from other seats.
He said it was very unfortunate that AAP did not give representation to women in the Lok Sabha elections.
“The party, which often talks about women empowerment and equality, could not find a single woman candidate. Earlier, the party did not have any women representation in Rajya Sabha,” Bajwa said. added.
“If we go back 10 years to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, AAP lost most of its candidates, leaders and even MPs. Harinder Singh Khalsa, Sucha Singh Chotepur, Harvinder Singh. – Leaders like Phulka, Dharambira Gandhi and Baldeep Singh have severed ties with AAP.
Voting for 13 seats in Punjab will be held on June 1.
