Sixteen teams participated in the 2024 Copa America tournament. After about two weeks of group stage matches, only eight teams remain.
The knockout stages of CONMEBOL’s quadrennial tournament have been decided, with eight teams preparing to meet in the quarter-finals, with Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Uruguay and Venezuela the last remaining teams.
All three teams that advanced to the quarterfinals – Argentina, Brazil and Colombia – finished in the top three at the last Copa America in 2021. That year, Argentina beat Brazil 1-0 to take home the trophy. Colombia beat Peru 3-2 in the third-place playoff.
