The final group stage match of the Copa America continues on Sunday, with Mexico and Ecuador battling for a chance to advance to the next round.

Venezuela leads Group B with six points after victories over both teams, while Mexico and Ecuador are tied with three points each. Either team will advance to the knockout stage if they win. Ecuador currently leads Mexico on goal difference, meaning a draw would favor Ecuador, making this a must-win match for Mexico.

Historically, Mexico has the advantage. In 25 meetings with Ecuador, Mexico has won 15, Ecuador has won four, and Mexico has drawn six times. The two teams most recently met in a friendly on June 5, 2022, ending in a 0-0 draw.
