Are you ready to achieve your best hairstyle? The hairstyles that come off the fashion runways define the trends for the coming seasons.

So we took a look at the show-stopping styles from Australian Fashion Week and spoke to Shark Beauty’s Hair Director, Chris Hunter about how you can recreate the runway looks at home.

So grab your Shark Beauty tools (AFW’s official hair tool partner) and let’s take a closer look at three attention-grabbing trends that are easy to recreate at home.

1. Natural Minimalism

The trend is all about using your natural texture to create an effortlessly chic and polished look. Seen on the runways of Albus Lumen and Bear Park, the trend celebrates hair’s natural beauty.

Natural minimalism on the Albus Lumen runway.

“For both shows, I used the SharkFlex Style Malibu with a diffuser attachment to dry the hair while preserving its natural texture,” says Chris Hunter.

“This trend is all about feeling better about yourself,” says Chris.

The result is soft, touchable waves and curls that look natural, like you just woke up in the morning – a true expression of your true self with a sophisticated twist.

2. Directional Route

This trend is defined by refined sophistication, and Carla Zampatti’s return to the catwalk brought styles that blend timeless elegance with a modern edge.

Seen on the Carla Zampatti runway, this easy-to-achieve style is designed for maximum impact.

For flawless runway-worthy results, start with Shark SpeedStyle and its diffuser attachment.

“And to achieve this style, sweep the hair back towards the nape of your neck and tuck it into the nape of your neck. Use a strong hair gel to secure the hair in place and pin it in place,” explains Chris.

Perfect for days when you want to look effortlessly glamorous, this is the ultimate look for maximum impact with minimal effort.

3. Romantic mysticism

Shown by Alix Higgins, this trend has a dreamy, dreamy vibe: think sleek edges, soft twists and whimsical low ponytails.

Something seen on the Alix Higgins runway.

To achieve this dreamy, elevated vision, Chris slicked her hair back into a left-sided twist, smooth edges, and a low ponytail at the nape of her neck.

“I then used the Shark Smooth Style to create an S-curve all over the pony,” he explains, “This is achieved by wrapping the hair around the barrel to create an S-shape.”

Simple and striking: achieve the look of romantic mysticism.

This distinctive S-shape gives off a magical vibe and is the perfect style for when you want to feel a little extra pampered.

Ready, go, style!

There are some valuable hair tools that even amateur hairstylists can use to achieve salon-quality results. Shark Beauty’s multi-purpose products help you achieve salon looks at home, from bouncy blowouts and sleek straight hair to beachy waves and defined curls. With these tools, it’s easier than ever to achieve professional runway hair at home.
