COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WANE) — After a theft earlier this month put the Foster Park Little League season in jeopardy, local residents have come together to ensure their kids have a place to play.

On Friday, Foster Park Little League members met with UTV manufacturer Landmaster to thank them for the donation of utility terrain vehicles worth more than $18,000 that will allow the Little League to keep the field open and avoid having to miss a week of games.

During a visit to the Landmaster facility, they recalled the impact donations and the community have had on the league and even signed the hood of a UTV that will be hung in the member gathering area.

Members of the Little League committee signed the hood of the UTV.

“It’s impossible to give back to all the people who always help out when something bad happens – American Landmaster, the local people, the local businesses in the area,” said David Dean, president of Foster Park Little League. “We think Little League provides a service and sometimes we need help too, but American Landmaster and the help of the community has saved us and we can’t thank them enough.”

While Foster Park Little League’s main goal is to help kids get better, the league says the outpouring of support has given kids new role models to look up to, including business owners who have turned a negative into a positive.
