An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday extended the physical remand of Armaghan Qureshi, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, till March 10.

Armaghan was produced before the court as part of the ongoing investigation into the high-profile murder.

The court granted the extension to allow further interrogation.

Moreover, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reported that Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, appeared intoxicated and did not give straightforward answers during interrogation.

The FIA’s cybercrime and anti-money laundering teams questioned Armaghan and Shiraz, who is also linked to the case.

The agency said it requested Armaghan’s laptop and other belongings from the police on February 28, but has yet to receive them.

The FIA added that Shiraz admitted to working under Armaghan. However, the agency stated that further interrogation would be conducted once the forensic reports of the suspect’s electronic devices are available.

Previously, Shiraz alleged that he was pressured by the police to confess to the crime.

During a hearing before the Karachi Judicial Magistrate South on Monday, Shiraz told the court that the police had promised him a lighter sentence if he agreed to confess.

Shiraz clarified that he was not the accused but an eyewitness to the crime, stating, “I saw Armaghan brutally murder Mustafa Amir, but I was helpless at the time.”

He further denied any involvement in the murder.

Following his denial, the court rejected the investigation officer’s request to record Shiraz’s confessional statement.
