CRP Technology and CRP USA have been named finalists for the prestigious TCT Awards 2024, demonstrating their commitment to innovation and excellence in additive manufacturing. CRP Technology, a pioneering Italian AM provider, was recognized in two prominent categories. The company’s advanced thermoplastic polyurethane, Windform TPU, was nominated for both the TCT Creative Application Award and the TCT Material Award. These accolades highlight the groundbreaking use of Windform TPU in the creation of the dynamic, lifelike cat’s eye prop for Michael Mann’s film “Ferrari.” The prop’s exceptional elasticity, flexibility, impact resistance and elongation at break of over 400% highlight the material’s versatility and superior performance in demanding applications.
“These recognitions highlight our relentless efforts to push the boundaries of what’s possible in additive manufacturing. We are honored to receive this recognition and remain committed to advancing high technology, efficiency and innovative materials,” said Franco Cevolini, CEO and Technical Director of CRP Technology.
3D printing service bureau CRP USA was also recognized for its outstanding contributions. The company’s laser-sintered oil catch tanks and water catch tanks, made using CRP Technology’s carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite Windform SP, were named finalists in the TCT Automotive & Rail Applications Awards category. These critical components are designed for the University of Victoria Formula Racing Team’s cars, and have demonstrated superior performance and reliability in the demanding environment of Formula SAE racing.
“The durability and performance of the parts CRP USA has 3D printed with Windform material is exceptional. In a competition like the 2023 event, where we took home top prize for Team Canada, the support of CRP USA has been invaluable. We are proud that our Windform 3D printed liquid catch can has been selected as a finalist for an award that celebrates the pinnacle of additive manufacturing,” said Luke Wooldridge, Powertrain Lead, UVic Formula Racing.
“We are thrilled with the incredible results achieved by the University of Victoria Formula Racing Team. Being selected as a finalist for the TCT Awards is not only an honor, but it also highlights our relentless commitment to supporting our partners with Windform’s latest technology tailored to their needs,” said Chris Brewster, CEO of CRP USA.
The TCT Awards finalists were selected from more than 100 nominees across 11 categories, representing the best achievement in additive manufacturing industry products and applications. Winners will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony taking place alongside the annual TCT 3Sixty event on June 5th at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, UK.
