Cuivre River Electric Cooperative (CREC) has been named a 2024 Tree Line USA Electric Cooperative by the Arbor Day Foundation in recognition of its commitment to good urban forest management in the provider’s service area.
Tree Line USA is a partnership between the Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters that recognizes public and private utilities that pursue best practices in protecting and growing America’s urban tree canopy. Additionally, Tree Line USA promotes safe and reliable power delivery while maintaining healthy community forests.
CREC has been recognized for the 23rd consecutive year by meeting five program standards: quality tree care, annual worker training, tree planting and public education, formal tree-based energy conservation, and sponsoring or participating in Arbor Day. has been certified by Tree Line USA.
By participating in the Tree Line USA program, service providers benefit from the ability to reduce line clearance costs through proper pruning. As a result of these trees being properly pruned and maintained, people benefit from improved service reliability.
